F&M wishes you a very happy 2012!
F&M has so much to celebrate from 2011: charting with 2010′s “Sincerely, F&M” and 2011 “Wish You Were Here”; another successful tour from Victoria to Montreal; participating in the finals for Calgary Folk Fest Pros & Prose Competition; the completion of “Wish You Were Here”; runner -up for 2011 Best Band in SEE Magazine; contributing to a CD compilation to raise funds for cancer research; filming two music videos; being featured by Telus TV, and other tv, radio and media opportunities; awesome guest spots on Mostly Water Theatre and Oh Susanna!; recording and sharing our holiday EP ‘Winter Is Coming”; surviving the theft and return of our van The White Pearl; and, most importantly, meeting listeners like you!
Already 2012 is sure to be full of adventure! Here’s one unique opportunity that we think you will be excited by: Hadestown: A Folk Opera. We are thrilled to let you know that Rebecca of F&M will be part of the upcoming Canadian debut of Anais Mitchell’s Hadestown coming this March to The Arden Theatre. The original cast of Hadestown featured the talents of Anais Mitchell, Justin Vernon (Bon Iver), Ani Difranco, Ben Knox Miller (Low Anthem), Greg Brown, and The Haden Sisters (wonderful musicians who have played with The Decembrists, Foo Fighters, andothers). For The Arden performances, Anais Mitchell and her Hadestown orchestra will be joined by a specially picked Canadian cast: HADES: John Rutherford; PERSEPHONE: Charlotte Cornfield; HERMES: Kris Demeanor; ORPHEUS: Stephen Tchir; THE FATES: Rebecca Anderson, Kaley Bird and Andrea House. We hope you can come out! Buy tickets
